espresso martini

“An espresso martini is a delicious and invigorating cocktail that combines the rich flavors of coffee with the smoothness of vodka and a hint of sweetness.

I absolutely love espresso martinis. They're perfect for coffee lovers. At first, I wasn't a fan, but then I discovered that it's a drink made with real espresso and alcohol. I thought, "I love both of those things!" So, I tried my first one last year at Carbone.

The ideal espresso martini for me is made with fresh espresso, a touch of kahlua for sweetness, and topped with foam, served in a classic coupe glass. I personally enjoy vodka-based espresso martinis, but tequila can also be a delicious alternative.

Don't forget to add three coffee beans on top for decoration. These three beans are a traditional garnish for Sambuca in Italy. They are known as "la mosca" (the fly) and are said to symbolize good health, wealth, and happiness!

I've had my fair share of bad-tasting espresso martinis, but I've found a simple and traditional way to make the best one according to my taste.

I've found that shaking without ice and then adding ice for another shake helps activate more egg whites and makes the foam fluffier when pouring. Some people say using fresh espresso can create great foam without egg whites, but I personally prefer adding egg white.
